The Panasonic CF-VZSU1431U is a Multi Media Bay Battery.

The Toughbook 31 comes with an empty media bay slot by default, this can be filled by a DVD/CD Drive or this Media Bay Battery.

The Panasonic CF-VZSU1431U media bay battery works with your Toughbook 31 battery to add extra life to your unit, it works in conjunction with your Battery to add battery life, it doesn't replace your standard battery just adds to it.

The Panasonic CF-VZSU1431U media bay battery is charged the same as your standard laptop battery, when plugged into an AC the Toughbook 31 will recharget he Media bay battery as well as your standard Toughbook 31 Battery.

The Panasonic CF-VZSU1431U is not compatible with the i5 Discrete Toughbook 31.

On the Toughbook 31 there is a "High End" Version, this is the version of the Toughbook 31 with the seperate GPU and this media bay battery is not compatible with that unit.
